Chief of Metabolism and Endocrine Section, San Francisco VA Health Care System

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) are seeking applications for the position of Chief of the SFVAHCS Metabolism and Endocrine Division. The SFVAHCS program is one of three Divisions of Endocrinology and Metabolism within the UCSF Department of Medicine, which include the UCSF Medical Center and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. In addition to serving a major leadership role within the SFVAHCS, the Division Chief works collaboratively to support research and education across all sites. Support for the VA Metabolism and Endocrine Section Chief position will include substantial resources to continue and grow a robust research program. This individual will be appointed in the UCSF In Residence, Clinical X, or HS Clinical Professor series and report directly to the Chief, Medical Service, SFVAHCS. Qualified applicants will have an MD, current medical license, and be board-certified/eligible in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology & Metabolism. The ideal candidate will be suitable for UCSF academic appointment at the level of associate or full professor, as evidenced by a strong track record of extramural funding, publication, teaching, and clinical excellence. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated leadership skills and success in mentorship. Preference will be given to those with a robust research program in obesity, diabetes, or dyslipidemia.
