The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking to recruit a full-time faculty member (MD or MD/PhD) clinical/academic radiation oncologist to specialize in palliative radiation therapy at the level of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical, Clinical X, or In-Residence Series. Descriptions of these series may be found in the UCSF online Academic Personnel Manual.

Candidates must be Radiation Oncology ABR board-certified or board-eligible and qualify for medical licensure and X-ray supervisor licensure in the state of California. Candidates must also have completed ACGME Residency Training in Radiation Oncology or be expected to complete training by June 30, 2019. A demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary clinical practice, academic pursuits, and teaching is preferred. Candidates will have one protected day weekly for academic and practice development pursuits and devote four days weekly to clinical duties. The primary focus will be consultation and treatment of patients with advanced cancer with indications for palliative radiotherapy, primarily employing external beam radiotherapy and stereotactic radiotherapy, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

The primary practice location will be the Parnassus Campus where there is a Siemens Artiste linac, Varian TrueBeam Stx linac, Icon Gamma Knife. Tomotherapy and CyberKnife machines are available at the UCSF Mt. Zion campus. The hired faculty member will work with an outstanding, collaborative multidisciplinary team of Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Palliative and Supportive Care specialists, and inpatient teams, and will participate as a key faculty member in the Radiation Oncology Residency Program, teach in educational courses provided by the Department of Radiation Oncology for medical students, residents and fellows, and contribute to continuing medical education efforts including the departmental annual scientific conference.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and achievements.
