Clinical Faculty Positions

The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Department of Ophthalmology is seeking applicants to fill either full time or part time faculty position(s) as an ophthalmologist to lead clinical services at a newly established clinical and teaching site. Opportunities exist for faculty to provide care in the areas of comprehensive ophthalmology, cornea and external disease, glaucoma, neuro ophthalmology, oculoplastics, pediatric ophthalmology, and vitreoretinal surgery. These individuals will be responsible for patient care and surgery as well as medical student, resident and fellow education and supervision. In addition, individuals are expected to develop or advance a clinically relevant research program that can include quality of care and outcomes.

REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates must hold an MD degree and have a CA license or be eligible for full, unrestricted licensure. Candidates must be board certified (ABO) or board eligible. For candidates applying in subspecialty areas, fellowship training is required. Candidates must have a distinguished record of excellence in clinical care, teaching and research, and it is expected that successful programs will be advanced in all three areas. Specialized training in uveitis, ocular oncology or pediatric surgical retina is an asset.
