The Debnath Lab in the Department of Pathology seeks a Associate or Full Specialist to conduct independent scientific projects that focus on the cell biology and biochemistry of the autophagy pathway. Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.
Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must at minimum possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in cell biology of autophagy or related field. Specialists appointed at the full rank must possess a doctorate degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience in cell biology of autophagy or related field. Appointees at the Associate or Full level must have significant record of academic accomplishment including published or in-press publication, and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service. Additionally, appointees at the Associate or Full level will provide considerable independence in planning and execution of research. We prefer applicants who have Post-doctoral experience focused on the cell biology and/or biochemistry of autophagy. Evidence of publications on the cell biology and/or biochemistry of autophagy are desirable.
