The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at University of California, San Francisco is seeking two new faculty with specialization in Abdominal Imaging. One of these positions will be based primarily at the UCSF Moffitt-Long/Mission Bay Hospitals, and the other position will be based primarily at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG). The selected candidates will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Clinical X, in-Residence, or HS Clinical series depending on qualifications and interests.
Faculty are expected to develop a clinical or more basic research program in the area of one's specialty focus. Responsibilities include clinical service, teaching and research. The selected candidate will supervise and teach residents, fellows and medical students in Abdominal Imaging including Ultrasound.
The position requires an MD degree (or equivalent), ability to practice medicine in California, expertise in Abdominal Imaging including Ultrasound, and completion of fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging. Applicants are expected to be board certified (or eligible) in Radiology. The requirements are to be met by the time of the faculty appointment start date.
Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital has a rich history as a world class trauma center and for its pioneering work in HIV research and clinical care. All physicians at ZSFG are jointly appointed and hold full-time faculty appointment with UCSF. A new hospital at ZSFG opened in 2016 with a fully equipped Department of Radiology including ultrasound, CT, MR, VIR, and PET/CT. UCSF medical students, residents, and fellows rotate there in all specialties.
UCSF Medical Center at Moffitt-Long and Mission Bay Hospitals is widely recognized for innovative patient care, advanced technology and pioneering research. The Department of Radiology has the most advanced imaging equipment in all modalities including ultrasound, CT, MR, angiography, and PET/CT and PET/MR – offering the newest clinical applications and techniques while also performing conventional procedures on state-of-the-art equipment.
The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF provides imaging services to seven sites in the San Francisco Bay Area including the following: Moffitt-Long Hospital, Mt. Zion Hospital, Benioff Children’s Hospital, and Betty Moore Cancer Hospital at the Mission Bay campus, ZSFG, the VA Medical Center, and the outpatient settings at China Basin and Montgomery Street.
