Full-Time Tenure Track and Clinical Track Faculty Positions in Orthodontics
The University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry invites applications and nominations for one full-time tenure track faculty position and a second tenure track or clinical track (Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series) position in Orthodontics at the assistant, associate or full professor level. Program leadership opportunities will be available to individuals with appropriate experience and credentials. The Division of Orthodontics is recognized for clinical and academic excellence, up-to-date clinical facilities, and offers an exceptional research environment. Numerous opportunities are available for clinical and / or research collaboration within the Dental School, and other UCSF health schools.
Candidates for the tenure track position should have a dental degree (DDS, DMD or equivalent), advanced training in orthodontics, and a PhD in biomedical sciences or other areas of relevance to orthodontics. The candidate should have a record of research accomplishments and have current or strong promise of extramural grant funding such as that from the NIH. Responsibilities will include establishing a strong and independently funded research program, didactic and clinical instruction of graduate orthodontic residents and/or dental students, and service.
Candidates for the clinical track position should have a dental degree (DDS, DMD or equivalent), advanced training in orthodontics, and be Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics or be Board-eligible. Prior experience in teaching in an academic environment is required. Responsibilities will include didactic and clinical instruction of graduate orthodontic residents and/or dental students, research and service.
Intramural faculty practice opportunities are available. For those applicants who do not meet the requirements for a California State dental license, a limited academic dental license may be available for qualified candidates. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and training.
