UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine
Hospitalist Clinician Educator
The UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine hires several new faculty each year into core Clinician-Educator positions. Our goal is to provide these new faculty members with a diverse clinical experience that matches their interests while also creating opportunities to explore and develop a path for academic success and a rewarding career in academic hospital medicine. Most new faculty positions combine clinical experiences on the teaching and non-teaching services with protected time for faculty development and pursuit of academic interests. Interested candidates are encouraged to explore the different clinical services as well as our educational, quality improvement, and research programs. Successful candidates for faculty positions will be graduates of excellent internal medicine programs with strong references. Many, but not all, of our faculty have completed a chief residency and/or a fellowship. Successful candidates will have evidence of or potential for outstanding teaching and leadership in research, quality improvement, or another academic area. We strongly encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds or who can make a unique contribution to diversity to apply. Interested applicants for all positions should send a letter of interest, their CV, and contacts for three references. Candidates must possess an MD degree, be board certified/eligible, and be eligible for licensure in the State of California. UC San Francisco seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
