The Integrated Pain and Palliative Care Program (IP3) at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Pain Physician to join our growing interdisciplinary team of pain, palliative care and integrative medicine providers. The selected candidate will be appointed to the Assistant or Associate Professor ranks of the HS Clinical or Clinical X faculty series.

IP3 provides pain and palliative care services in the inpatient and outpatient setting to infants, children and adolescents with acute and complex/chronic pain, and children with chronic illnesses. Our team includes pain and palliative care physicians, pediatric anesthesiologists, pediatric nurse practitioner, pain psychologist, chaplains, child life specialists and integrative medicine specialists who provide mind-body interventions, such as acupuncture, massage, and aromatherapy. There is potential for the selected candidate to take a broader leadership role in the IP3 depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualified candidates will possess a medical degree and license, Board certification or eligibility in General Pediatrics at the time of appointment, and at least two years of experience in providing pediatric acute/chronic pain care and symptom management in the tertiary and palliative care setting. The ideal candidate will possess inpatient and outpatient experience in pediatric pain management, Board certification in pain management and/or palliative care, and will be able to demonstrate clear communication and team-building skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse medical providers.
