Assistant Level Position

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is recruiting for a basic scientist with expertise in bone biomechanics, bone biology, and intervertebral disc physiology, with a focus on biomechanical and cellular mechanisms that regulate bone and intervertebral disc health.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a self-sustaining research program, collaborating with clinical faculty and research faculty within our tissue engineering and bioengineering laboratories, and disseminating research results in prominent peer-reviewed journals. The candidate will also be responsible for providing an integral role to teach orthopaedic residents as well as bioengineering graduate students. Both didactic and laboratory-based teaching is required

Requirements:
PhD in Bioengineering or related field
Postgraduate experience in tissue mechanics, biomedical imaging, computational modeling, small animal testing, and in vitro cell culture models.
Teaching experience in an academic institution.
