Associate Medical Director of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control, Adult services
The University of California, San Francisco Medical center seeks an Associate Medical Director of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control. The Associate Medical Director will assist and work closely with the Medical Director and Director to ensure that services provided are in accord with the institution’s mission, vision, values and goals, and with regulatory and accreditation requirements. The Associate Medical director will work closely with the Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship to develop a cutting edge molecular diagnostics program to identify infectious disease outbreaks and to track antimicrobial resistance. There will be opportunities to work closely with the newly established Chan-Zuckerberg Biohub at the Mission Bay Campus. The Associate Medical Director will commit up to 25% effort to hospital epidemiology and infection control responsibilities, with 10-30% effort devoted to clinical responsibilities within the Division of Infectious Diseases in the adult inpatient general and/or transplant ID services. Candidates must have an MD or MD-PhD degree from an approved LCME medical school, satisfactory completion of an Internal Medical residency program from an ACGME-accredited program, be eligible for California medical licensure, and be board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Prior hospital epidemiology and infection control experience and/or research experience in molecular epidemiology highly desirable. Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level commensurate with experience. The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
