The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is recruiting a Clinician Investigator Scholar for our UCSF Women’s Reproductive Health Research (WRHR) K12 Career Development Program. This position is for an obstetrician/gynecologist committed to becoming an independent clinical, translational, and/or basic science researcher in women’s reproductive health. It includes 2- to 5-years of intensive mentored research combined with patient care. The successful candidate will have experience formulating and conducting research studies, publishing manuscripts and applying for funding with a focus on women’s reproductive health. Candidates must be planning an academic career and 1) be a physician holding the M.D. or D.O. degree; 2) have completed postgraduate residency training in obstetrics-gynecology; 3) have completed or be in the final year of postdoctoral fellowship training in obstetrics and gynecology, if the candidate has chosen to subspecialize, or advanced training in clinical research; 4) identify an approved mentor or mentors with extensive research experience (http://obgyn.ucsf.edu/education-training/WRHR); 5) commit at least 75% effort to conducting research and research career development; 6) not be or have been a PD/PI on an R01, R29 or subproject of a Program Project (P01), Center (P50, P60, U54) grant, >4 years on an independent mentored career development (K-series) grants, or other equivalent research grant awards; and 7) be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and achievements.
