Chief of Anatomic Pathology at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center

The Department of Pathology of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG) are seeking a full-time academic pathologist to serve as Chief of Pathology at the ZSFG. This position involves medical oversight of an academic hospital laboratory offering diagnostic services in all areas of anatomic pathology including surgical pathology, cytopathology and autopsy pathology.

The successful candidate must have an MD or MD-PhD degree and must be board certified in Anatomic Pathology. The candidate must also possess or be eligible for California Medical Licensure. Candidates must have previous hospital laboratory administrative experience. Possession of subspecialty expertise or certification in a subspecialty in any area of Pathology is also an advantage. Candidates performing basic or translational research with active extramural funding are strongly encouraged to apply.

The candidate will be expected to participate in departmental teaching activities for medical students, residents, clinical and research fellows, and at interdepartmental conferences. The position will be at the Associate Professor or Professor level, depending on the qualifications of the applicant. Salary and title will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and training.
