Division of Cardiology, Department of Pediatrics
HS Clinical or Clinical X Faculty Series

The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are recruiting faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor ranks of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical or Clinical X faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will expand research activities in the field of pediatric heart failure and transplantation at UCSF, attend on the pediatric cardiology heart failure/mechanical support/transplant inpatient service, and staff pediatric cardiology heart failure/transplant outpatient clinics.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Departments mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical degree and license.
  • Board certification in pediatrics and subspecialty certification or eligibility in pediatric cardiology.
  • Formal clinical training or equivalent experience in heart failure, mechanical support and transplant.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the practice and teaching of clinical pediatric cardiology.
  • Preferred candidates will hold advanced fourth year pediatric fellowship training and/or three years’ practice experience and UNOS certification.
  • Successful candidates will show interest in a career in academic pediatrics.

Anticipated Clinical Duties:

  • Heart failure, mechanical support, transplant consultation service: Equally distributed
  • Outpatient clinics: 2 days per week
  • Cardiology consultation service: 4 weeks per year

For positions that are 51% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $115,100-$305,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $82,200-$218,500.
