Junior Specialist (Clinical Research Fellow) – Department of Orthopaedic Surgery
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of California, San Francisco is seeking for a Junior Specialist. This position serves as the Clinical Research Fellow under the supervision of the Orthopaedic Trauma Institute’s leadership at the Regional Medical Center in San Jose, California. The Clinical Research Fellow will coordinate multi-center studies. The incumbent will conduct patient screening, recruitment, follow up, data collection and entry for multiple research projects. The incumbent also will be responsible for managing all IRB materials for studies. This includes submitting the master protocol to the local IRB, processing any amendments requested by the sponsor, and submitting annual progress reports. This position has might require some evening and weekend availability.
Required Qualifications:
• Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous research experience and familiarity with orthopedic research are preferred.
Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.
