The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery, University of California, San Francisco is seeking outstanding candidates for an academic, solid organ transplant surgeon with training in liver, pancreas and kidney transplantation. Candidates must have completed an ASTS (American Society of Transplant Surgeons) approved fellowship or will complete the fellowship by August 2023. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Requirements include excellent clinical skills in transplantation, including experience in living donor liver transplantation and laparoscopic kidney donor procedures. The ideal candidate will also have experience in innovative areas such as use of the robotic platform and newer liver perfusion devices.

This position will also allow for further development of a career in either Health Sciences Research, translational research or basic research, with a potential for protected time to pursue research efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to further pursue independent research funding.

Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s residency training and educational programs.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $135,700 -$213,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
