Professor of Surgery – Chief, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

The Department of Surgery, University of California, San Francisco, is seeking an outstanding and dynamic individual as Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The next leader of this very successful Division will provide direction, vision, oversight, development, and accountability across the full range of the academic mission and will partner with colleagues across the Department, the School of Medicine, UCSF Health, and the broader health network and University. The selected candidate will have a national reputation as a leader in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and will have an exemplary record in the areas of patient care, medical education, and research, as well as exceptional administrative and organizational skills.

Candidates must be board certified in Plastic Surgery with an exemplary track record of management and leadership.

This position will be appointed at the Full Professor rank in the Clinical X or the In Residence series.

Candidates must have recognized skills and expertise in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s residency/fellowship training and educational programs.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $198,400 - $360,600. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
