The Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time academic surgeon with an exemplary record of patient care and expertise in Acute Care Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in General Surgery. Candidates who are board eligible or board certified in Surgical Critical Care are preferred. Candidates who have a proven track record in in scholarly work (basic/translational science, public/population health research, health policy or health services research) are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates who have experience in the development and maintenance of clinical practice guidelines and quality improvement are desirable.

This position will be primarily based at the UCSF Parnassus campus.

Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department’s residency training and educational programs.
