Position description
UCSF Fresno & CCFMG – Emergency Medicine Faculty
The Department of Emergency Medicine at UCSF Fresno in conjunction with Central California Faculty Medical Group is seeking core faculty members. Our emergency medicine residency program was founded in 1974, and includes 46 EM residents in a PGY1-4 format, supported by University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in Fresno, California.
CRMC has 630 beds, exceeded 120,000 ED visits last year, while being amongst the busiest Level One Trauma Centers in California. We serve as the Base Hospital for a four-county comprehensive EMS System and provide medical direction to the National Park Service.
Our faculty group consists of 45 full time, residency trained, board certified emergency physicians, many with additional fellowship training. We seek qualified board certified (or board eligible in the process of obtaining board certification) candidates in Emergency Medicine with subspecialty expertise. Candidates must also have an active California medical license or be eligible to apply for one. The applicant must have met all requirements by time of hire. Depending on qualifications, leadership positions exist within the spheres of Ultrasound, pediatrics, EMS, Toxicology, and Research.
Fresno is the 5th largest city in California and nestled below the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The heart of California's agricultural region, Fresno is also a dynamic, multicultural city with a vibrant creative community and ever-expanding food scene. Enjoy farmer's markets, festivals, and parks in addition to the many sporting opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, including great hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, trail running, and cycling. Fresno is ideally located for convenient getaways to the majestic Sierra (60 minutes away), as well as the scenic Central Coast, just two and one-half hours away. Fresno is the only major city in the country with proximity to three national parks: Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite.
