In Residence Faculty Position | Neuroscience of Addiction and Related Brain Mechanisms
UCSF Department of Neurology and Weill Institute for Neurosciences

The Department of Neurology at UCSF is recruiting outstanding, energetic neuroscientists investigating addiction and related brain mechanisms. This area of research is defined broadly; it could include cellular actions of abused drugs, neural dynamics associated with motivation, neuromodulation of behavioral control and decision-making processes in humans, and related topics. Recruited faculty will join an intellectually-vibrant group of investigators (https://aarg.ucsf.edu/) as well as the wider, world-leading community of basic, translational, and clinical neuroscience at UCSF (http://weill.ucsf.edu). We expect to offer a very competitive package of start-up funding and salary support.

Selected candidates will be hired at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor ranks of the In Residence faculty series, commensurate with their experience and accomplishments. Qualified applicants must possess a medical or doctoral degree, and a clear track record of innovative publications and success obtaining competitive grant funding.

Applications must be submitted online at https://aprecruit.ucsf.edu/JPF04147, with a cover letter, CV, statement of research, statement of contributions to diversity, and the names, titles, and e-mail addresses of three references whom we may contact directly. Applications received outside of the online process cannot be considered, but informal inquiries can be directed to Alexandra Nelson, M.D., Ph.D. (alexandra.nelson@ucsf.edu) or Josh Berke, Ph.D. (joshua.berke@ucsf.edu).

Applicants should apply by November 4, 2022 for full consideration.
