Clinical Faculty Position in Orthodontics

The University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry invites applications and nominations for full-time and part-time clinical faculty members in Orthodontics at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank in the HS Clinical or Clinical X series. Program leadership opportunities will be available to individuals with appropriate experience and credentials. The Division of Orthodontics is recognized for clinical and academic excellence, up-to-date clinical facilities, and offers an exceptional research environment. Numerous opportunities are available for clinical and / or research collaboration within the Dental School, and other UCSF health schools.

Candidates must have a dental degree (DDS, DMD or equivalent), advanced training in orthodontics, and be Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics or be Board-eligible. Prior experience in teaching in an academic environment is strongly preferred. Responsibilities will include didactic and clinical instruction of graduate orthodontic residents and/or dental students, research and service.

Intramural faculty practice opportunities are available. For those applicants who do not meet the requirements for a California State dental license, a limited academic dental license may be available for qualified candidates. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and training.

For positions that are 51% effort or more:
The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $92,100-$284,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t2.pdf) for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,800-$218,500. The estimated salary will be calculated based on work effort.
