Associate Specialist – Cheng Lab
Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics

The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics is seeking an Associate Specialist for the Cheng Lab. The responsibilities of this Associate Specialist include, but not limited to, carrying out structural and functional studies of membrane proteins, particularly ion channels and/or GPCRs by using single particle cryo-EM.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD degree
  • 5 years postdoctoral training experience in the area of structural biology, single particle cryo-EM of membrane proteins and/or ion channels.
  • Should have demonstrated efficiency in the membrane protein sample preparation, cryo-EM data acquisition and image processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong publication record.
  • Efficient in membrane protein biochemistry and molecular biology.
  • Hands-on experience in structural analysis of TRP channels and GPCRs are preferable.
