Division of Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Department of Ophthalmology
University of California, San Francisco

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking applicants to fill a full-time faculty position for the neuro-ophthalmology service at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.

The candidate will provide neuro-ophthalmological clinical services, conduct basic, translational or clinical research, and develop or advance a clinically relevant research program that includes quality of care and outcomes. In addition, the candidate will provide pediatric neuro-ophthalmology and adult neuro-ophthalmology clinical services at one or more of our multiple Bay Area clinical sites, and participate in medical student, resident and fellow education.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates must hold an MD or equivalent degree and have a CA license or be eligible for full, unrestricted licensure. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in both ophthalmology and neurology and have completed fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology by the time of hire. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Demonstrated teaching competency as well as demonstrated success in clinical or laboratory research are essential. Postgraduate clinical training in both neurology and ophthalmology is mandatory. Specialized training in electromyography is highly preferred. Candidates must have a distinguished record of excellence in clinical care, teaching and research. It is expected that successful programs will be advanced by the candidate in all of these three areas.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2022-23/oct-2022-salary-scales/t5-summary.pdf. The minimum base salary range for this position is $106,900 - $194,000. The total negotiated salary for this position will include another component at the time of hire. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf) which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
