Position description

The Division of Experimental Medicine (DEM) is now recruiting for an Assistant Professional Researcher. The successful candidate will work closely with the PI to define a project related to antimalarial immunity, including the definition of targeted CD4 and CD8 epitopes and genomic and functional characterization of malaria-specific T cells. As required for this project, the individual will receive mentorship and training from the PI and her collaborators and will receive support to attend training courses as needed to learn new skills and techniques and data analysis methods. In addition, the candidate will be required complete several online training courses on laboratory safety, the ethical conduct of research, human subjects research, and related matters. As a senior member of the reserach group, the candidate will be expected to contribute to grant preparation and to assist in the training and mentorship of new/ more junior lab members. The candidate will be expected to attend and present at regular weekly seminars hosted by the Division of Experimental Medicine and the Malaria Interest Group. The candidate will also be expected to periodically present your research at local venues as well as national or international meetings, with support from the PI.

Required qualifications:
• PhD in Immunology, Biological Sciences, or Infectious Diseases.
• Postdoctoral experience.

Preferred qualifications:
• Proficiency in flow cytometry and high parameter immunological data analysis.
• Track record of independent research.
