Position description

The Department of Dermatology is seeking a laboratory administrative manager at the Junior/ Assistant/Associate level. We are a basic immunology laboratory that studies how the immune system functions in both mouse and human tissues. The position will primarily consist of managing the operations of the lab. This individual will be responsible for ordering and storing lab supplies, lab budgeting, archiving and retrieving data, interfacing with the lab and clinical teams for specimen retrieval and processing, scheduling meetings, website maintenance, and communicating with industry and academic collaborators. There is an opportunity for wet lab work only if desired but no experience required. Hybrid work schedule available.

Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
• Specialists appointed at the junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of equivalent experience in the relevant specialization.
• Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least five years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.
• Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
• Candidates must meet all required qualifications at the time of appointment.
• A 2-year commitment to working in the lab is also required.
