The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time faculty position as a Cytopathologist at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X Series. This position is based in the Department of Pathology. The incumbent is expected to participate in night and weekend surgical pathology call, departmental teaching activities for medical students, house-staff, and fellows, and interdepartmental conferences.
The successful candidate must have an MD degree (or MD equivalent), a valid California medical license (or qualifications to obtain one at the time of appointment), be Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology (or board eligibility in Cytopathology, this must be documented in the application materials). Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Applicants with expertise in molecular pathology either formal fellowship training or comparable experience and publications will be preferred. Fellowship training in surgical pathology or a surgical pathology subspecialty will be favored. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated and participated in clinical and/or translational research. Candidates with strong interpersonal skills are preferred. Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and training.
