Pulmonary/Sleep Clinician

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco VA Health Care System

(SFVAHCS) are seeking applications for academic positions in the Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Section at the San Francisco VA. We are in search of an outstanding clinician with experience in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, who will participate in clinical and teaching activities predominantly in our ambulatory clinics.

The San Francisco VA Health Care System provides health services to Veterans through the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC) and seven community-based outpatient clinics. Our Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine programs have expanded, generating an exciting opportunity to provide more specialty care for patients who are seen at our community based clinics. Primary duties will include staffing ambulatory Pulmonary and Sleep Clinics and rotating as an attending physician on the inpatient Pulmonary Consult service. Applicants will have demonstrated clinical excellence along with aptitude for scholarship in clinical and educational endeavors aligned with the missions of the Division, UCSF, and the SFVAHCS.

This individual will receive an academic appointment at UCSF in either the HS Clinical or Clinical X series, at a rank (Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) commensurate with their experience. They will report directly to the Chief of Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine at SFVAHCS. Applicants will have an MD, a current medical license, and board-certification in Internal Medicine. They must also be board-certified/eligible in Pulmonary Medicine. Board eligibility or board certification in Sleep Medicine and/or Critical Care Medicine is highly desired but not required.
