Specialist- Li Lab

The Li lab is looking for a Junior/Assistant/Associate/Full Specialist that will work on using a novel metabolic imaging approach, hyperpolarized carbon-13 metabolic imaging, for patient evaluation. She/he will work as a part of a large team of clinical and research collaborators in the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop Tools for acquiring and processing hyperpolarized carbon-13 data
  • Perform patient data collection and manage patient database
  • Analyze H-1 MRI, MR spectroscopic imaging and hyperpolarized carbon-13 patient data, e.g. image segmentation, metabolic imaging analysis, multi-parametric analysis.
  • Write conference abstracts and manuscripts

Required Qualifications:

  • Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) in biomedical imaging, engineering, (or related field) or at least four years of research experience.
  • Specialists appointed at the Assistant or Associate ranks must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least five years to ten years of research experience.
  • Specialists appointed at the Full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of research experience.
  • Applicants must meet all the requirements by the time of hire.
  • Candidate’s CV and/or cover letter must list qualifications (or if pending) upon submission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in biomedical imaging, engineering, or related fields
  • 4 years of research experience using hyperpolarized carbon-13 MR metabolic imaging in patient evaluation.
  • Post graduate training in field
  • Strong statistical, computational, and communication skills
  • Experience in image processing (e.g. matlab, R and segmentation)
  • Highly motivated and reliable
  • Equally productively when working independently or cooperatively
