Associate Specialist- Jan Lab

The Department of Physiology is now recruiting an Associate Specialist, to investigate mechanosensitive ion channels and mechanosensing biology.

Required Qualifications:
• At least a master’s degree or five to ten years of research experience
• Background and experience in laboratory research on ion channels, cytoskeleton, membrane biophysics and structural biology
• Experience with molecular biology, fly genetics, immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy, cell culture, live cell imaging, protein-protein interaction analysis, protein expression in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell systems, transmembrane protein purification, protein thermal stability analysis, ion channel reconstitution in nanodiscs and liposomes, negative stain EM, cryo-EM based structural analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
• 5 years post-graduate training in field
• PhD in Biology or related science
