SFVAHCS – Infectious Diseases - PhD Faculty
PhD Faculty at San Francisco VA Health Care System

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC) are seeking applications for an Assistant Professor position in the Adjunct series. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Retrovirology, virology, molecular biology or a related discipline, and excellent qualifications in translational HIV research.

The Division of Infectious Diseases seeks highly qualified candidates with expertise in the study of HIV virology and pathogenesis.

Qualified applicants will have a PhD (or equivalent degree) and demonstrated capacity to conduct laboratory based studies of the viral and host determinants of HIV persistence, the testing of strategies for eliminating latently infected cells and the characterization of viral reservoirs. Prior post-doctoral training in these or related areas of study is expected. In addition, the candidate will be suitable for academic appointment at UCSF at the level of Assistant Professor. Ideal candidates will possess an outstanding track record for productive research and scientific publication and evidence of independence through her/his/their ability to obtain research funding.
