The Hunt Lab (Division of Experimental Medicine) seeks a Specialist to develop and perform in vitro assays and flow cytometry using the LSRII, Cytek Aurora, and Aria cytometers with data/statistical analysis and troubleshooting of outliers in support of ongoing projects. Further, the Specialist will perform flow cytometry preparation including lymphocyte isolation and tissue processing, database entry and management for sample/reagent inventories, cell culture and cell based immunologic assays, ELISA processing, and nucleic acid isolation and quantitative RT-PCR.
• Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least 4 years of research experience.
• Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least 5 years of experience in the relevant specialization.
• Experience with lymphocyte isolation techniques from blood and tissues.
• Experience using flow cytometers and analysis software.
• Experience with cell culture and immunologic assays, ELISAs, nucleic acid isolation and quantitative RT-PCR.
Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.
