Adjunct Faculty Positions - Department of Physiological Nursing
University of California, San Francisco

The UCSF School of Nursing Department of Physiological Nursing announces a search for Adjunct faculty positions. Appointments will be in the Adjunct series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, depending upon the individual's level of experience and extramural funding.

We are seeking scientists with an emerging or established research career whose research focuses on areas designated as a strategic priorities for the School of Nursing, namely health equity, aging and the life course, community and population health, digital health and data science, and symptom science. Within these broad themes, scientists in the Department of Physiological Nursing conduct biobehavioral research in the areas of precision health and artificial intelligence approaches to improve care for individuals with complex health conditions (e.g., obesity, diabetes, cancer-related symptoms); digital health and data science approaches to solve complex problems in health care delivery (e.g. alarm fatigue, physiologic monitoring); development and testing of interventions to improve neurosensory and physical functioning (e.g. hearing loss, cognitive dysfunction), symptom management, and palliative care.

The primary emphasis of these faculty positions is research, but the potential to contribute to other aspects of the academic mission, i.e., teaching, mentoring, service, and professional practice, will be viewed as highly desirable.

Required qualification:

• An earned Doctoral Degree by the start of the appointment.
• Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.

Additional qualifications include:

• A research program synergistic with departmental research priorities and teaching.

• A demonstrated record of extramural funding for research in one or more of the areas listed above or current employment at a UCSF affiliated organization.

• Demonstrated record of and willingness to mentor graduate students and other trainees, include trainees on research projects, and teach as needed.

• A record of contributions to university and public service.

• Demonstrated evidence of professional competence as appropriate to the level of experience.
