Position description

General Urologist

The Department of Urology at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking to hire a full-time board-certified or board-eligible urologist for its Medical Urology program. The ideal candidate must be experienced in general urology conditions with a special emphasis to include benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), urinary stone disease, lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS). An exemplary track record of patient care and an active interest in clinical or implementation science research or education is preferred. This position will be based at the UCSF Medical Center San Mateo Affiliate Campus. The candidate will work in the outpatient clinic setting for patient evaluation and office-based procedures. Operating room privileges will be granted at either the UCSF Medical Center or Affiliate Campus facilities for surgical procedures based upon the Department’s needs and candidate’s expertise. The candidate must have recognized skills in the education of trainees, including, but not limited to, Medical Students, Residents and Fellows. All candidates must have or be able to obtain a California medical license. The position will be appointed in either the In Residence or Clinical X series at the Assistant or Associate Professor level depending on qualifications and experience of the final candidate. All requirements must be met by the start date.

The qualified candidate should expect to drive a busy office-based clinical practice seeing patients with a broad range of general urology conditions in addition to these areas of specialty focus. Position includes opportunities to teach top notch residents and students, drive regionalization strategy in the Bay Area, and grow a research program in clinical or implementation science related to the clinical activities described above.

Applicants will be considered until the position has been filled. Please submit curriculum vitae, a cover letter, a brief statement of your teaching and research interest, a statement of contributions to diversity, and provide a minimum of 5 references (contact information only). The candidate of choice will be expected to submit a total of 6 letters if he/she is appointed at the Associate level (contact information only).
