Position description

The Division of Infectious Diseases at University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine seeks a clinician educator. The position will likely include up to 80% direct patient care time and 20% administrative time. The faculty member will care for patients on both inpatient teaching Infectious Diseases (ID) consult services (general ID or transplant ID) and inpatient non-teaching ID consult services (located at Parnassus or at affiliated hospitals). The faculty member will also provide care for patients in one or more of the UCSF outpatient ID Clinics (General ID, Transplant ID, or HIV). The faculty member will be expected to participate in teaching of students, residents, and ID fellows. Opportunities for participation in creative work include clinical research, QI, and medical education. Additional opportunities may include work in the infection prevention and/or antimicrobial stewardship programs for UCSF Health. Candidates must have an MD, DO, or MD-PhD (or equivalent degree) from an approved LCME medical school, satisfactory completion of an Internal Medical residency program from an ACGME-accredited program, be eligible for California medical licensure, and be board-certified or board-eligible in ID. Appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level commensurate with experience.
