Position description

Specialist- Preclinical imaging research

A Specialist position in the area of Preclinical imaging research is available within the UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical imaging. The successful candidate will Manage the preclinical imaging laboratory, operation of preclinical imaging systems, preclinical imaging research consultation, training of lab personnel for preclinical imaging, providing scientific and technical expertise for preclinical imaging research projects.

We are considering individuals at multiple levels of experience. Specialists appointed at the junior rank must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant science discipline with relevant work experience (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience. Specialists appointed at the Assistant or Associate ranks must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least five years to ten years of research experience. Specialists appointed at the full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of research experience. Applicants must meet the requirements by the time of appointment. Applicants must list qualifications (or if pending) on their CV upon submission.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in working with small animals, understanding and experience with microPET, microCT, or microSPECT
