Job Description
The Baranzini lab is seeking to hire a full-time specialist to provide support for users of a state-of-the-art gnotobiotic mouse facility (using a bio-exclusion caging system). The successful candidate will manage and maintain our specialized gnotobiotic mouse facility at UCSF Mission Bay Campus. The job will involve basic mouse husbandry within gnotobiotic isolators, including monitoring of food, water, and bedding conditions, as well as sterilization and introduction of food, cages, bedding, water, and environmental enrichment as necessary.

Other required duties involve monitoring stocks of consumables and reordering in a timely manner and maintaining detailed records of tasks performed, in addition to other duties as assigned. We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-directed person who has the desire to learn new skill sets and can handle increased responsibilities as the gnotobiotic facilities expand.
Salary will be competitive and based on experience.
