Specialist at UCSF


The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging is looking for a researcher who is interested in a Specialist position at UCSF. We are a laboratory specializing in the development of new molecular imaging and therapeutic tools based on hyperpolarized 13C MRI and positron emission tomography, with a particular focus on the tumor microenvironment.

The ideal candidate will have prior lab experience (beyond coursework lab experience) and familiarity with one or more of the following: chemical biology, synthetic organic chemistry, molecular imaging, positron emission tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, image processing, or radiochemistry. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in chemistry or imaging science who have the ability to perform independent research in addition to supporting the lab. Candidates interested in working in the lab for at least 1 years are preferred.

The Flavell molecular imaging laboratory is an interdisciplinary laboratory focused on the development of new molecular imaging tools for studying the tumor microenvironment. Additional projects focus on the development of novel therapeutic and theranostic agents, with a particular focus on prostate cancer.

We are considering individuals at multiple levels of experience. Specialists appointed at the junior rank must possess a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience. Specialists appointed at the Assistant or Associate ranks must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least five years to ten years of research experience. Specialists appointed at the full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of research experience. CV must contain previous research experience and 2 references.
