Assistant Specialist- State Lab
The Department of Psychiatry is now recruitment for an Assistant Specialist. The successful candidate will determine the endogenous role of autism risk gene DYRK1A in brain development using CRISPR-based mutagenesis and drug-based inhibition in X. tropicalis. This person will also be responsible for creating and maintaining two electronic databases. The first will be for tracking all aspects of Xenopus tropicalis husbandry and maintenance, and the second will be for reagent tracking and use.
- Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five years of research experience
- The successful candidate will have experience working with Xenopus tropicalis and CRISPR/Cas9 mutagenesis.
- This person will be proficient in Filemaker Pro software and have experience maintaining reagent databases.
