Faculty Position in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Health, Department of Pediatrics
UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals
Clinical X Series; Assistant Professor

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California San Francisco invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank in the Clinical X faculty series within the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Global Health. Responsibilities will include clinical care and teaching on the Pediatric Infectious Disease inpatient consult service as well as outpatient ID clinic consultation at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, San Francisco. A substantial portion of the position will be dedicated to oversight of the established Pediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Benioff Children’s Hospital, San Francisco. The ideal candidate should have background and experience in:
• Antimicrobial stewardship
• Clinical pharmacology of antimicrobial medications
• Interdisciplinary leadership
• Quality and process improvement

Additionally, the Department seeks candidates who show strong potential for scholarly or creative output related to antimicrobial stewardship and seek to build a research program related to antimicrobial stewardship.

Candidates with interest and experience in the care of immunocompromised hosts are encouraged to apply, as the division aims to develop a specialized service to meet the needs of this population.

Applicant must be eligible for a California medical license and have achieved American Board of Pediatrics certification/eligibility in Infectious Diseases; must possess at least three years of experience providing clinical care in pediatric infectious diseases; and at least three years of experience teaching/mentoring medical students, residents, and/or Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellows.
