Department of Family and Community Medicine Research Scientist Search

The Mission of the UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine is to improve health through excellence and innovation in patient care, education, research, advocacy, and community empowerment. We are dedicated to building a just and equitable society, recognizing that health and illness are shaped by the contexts of people’s lives.

We are seeking outstanding research scientists to join our dynamic, nationally-recognized research program focused on advancing and applying knowledge in patient care, population health, community engagement and public policy. Required qualifications are a PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant social science. Preferred qualifications include a research focus on primary care, health equity, social determinants of health, implementation science, and/or community medicine.

Applications from candidates at any level are encouraged. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Research Scientist within the Professional Research Series within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at a rank appropriate for the candidate’s qualifications. Although candidates with strong commitment to research and teaching excellence are encouraged to apply, there are no formal didactic teaching responsibilities in this position.
