DESCRIPTION

Applied Clinical Informatics Faculty Search

The UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine is seeking faculty at the mid- to advanced-career level with background, skills, and a history of success in applied clinical informatics research. We are open to a broad array of clinical informatics domains, such as human-computer interaction, mobile health, patient-provider interaction, and clinical/quality outcomes.

Successful candidates will be at (or within 1 year of attaining) the Associate Professor level or higher, with a history of independent research funding (NIH R01 award or equivalent), a strong history of publication, and an ability to collaborate with the UCSF Health System and other Institutes/Centers/Faculty working in related areas.

Though this is a research-focused position, candidates will (in the case of physician scientists) have clinical opportunities matched to their board certification and interest.

Candidates will have access to the robust clinical, research, informatics, and quality improvement resources within the Division of Hospital Medicine, the Department of Medicine, and UCSF. This would include a team of programmers and guides adept at mining data from the EHR, peers and colleagues active in the applied informatics space including with important leadership roles at UCSF in EHR management and enhancement, and partnership with institutions active in deep learning and artificial intelligence.

We strongly encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds or who can make a unique contribution to diversity to apply. Interested applicants for all positions should upload a letter of interest, their CV, a statement of contributions to diversity, and a statement of research.

Candidates must possess either an MD or PhD (or equivalent) degree, and if an MD must be board certified and eligible for licensure in the State of California. For more information on the Division of Hospital Medicine, visit our website at www.hospitalmedicine.ucsf.edu.

UC San Francisco seeks candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.

The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age or protected veteran status.
