The Biomineralization and Bioengineering Group at UCSF has an opening for a Professional Researcher positon in the following field:

  1. Molecular Biology

Starting as soon as possible. Qualifications should include a Ph.D. in biological sciences or physical sciences (see below for qualifications).

ENVIRONMENT: Interdisciplinary team members: bioengineers, materials scientists, surgeons from UCSF Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, UC San Francisco; physicists and materials scientists from UC Berkeley, and UC Davis


  1. Molecular Biology: Ph.D. in Biological or Physical Sciences Laser capture microdissection, histology, immunohistochemistry, DNA and RNA extraction, RT-PCR, rodent handling and colony maintenance and light microscopy techniques
  2. To leverage technology and address challenging questions.
  3. Excellent organization, communication (oral and writing skills) and interpersonal skills (needed to work as a collaborative team member); self-motivated with good time management skills
  4. Ability to work with large and complex databases
  5. Work independently yet being a strong team member; able to prioritize multiple tasks and competing priorities; demonstrate excellence in reliability and attendance.
