Research Specialist

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery is seeking a Junior, Assistant, or Associate Research Specialist. Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibility. Specialist are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate University and Public Service.

This research position is for individuals who must have received their bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, neuroscience, music, or a related field. Specialists appointed at the Assistant or Associate rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) in clinical psychology, neuroscience, music, or a related field or at least 5 years of research experience. All requirements must be met by the time of employment at UCSF. The position requires a background in cognitive psychology, music performance/pedagogy, and music cognition. We prefer individuals who have already worked in a previous music cognition laboratory or have previous experience in music education.
