San Francisco Bay Area Director of Experiential Pharmacy Education, UCSF, School of Pharmacy

The UCSF School of Pharmacy, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank to serve as the Director of San Francisco Bay Area Experiential Training. The UCSF School of Pharmacy has been the national leader in NIH research funding for 38 consecutive years, and is widely recognized for innovation in pharmacy practice and education.

The successful candidate will manage San Francisco Bay Area experiential education activities, develop and implement new experiential opportunities, and participate in ongoing preceptor development and training programs. The candidate will be responsible for the quality assurance of the experiential education programs and will work closely with the IPPE program director and other regional program directors throughout the state, and a large cohort of volunteer faculty. She or he will have responsibilities in didactic and experiential teaching within the PharmD program. He or she will also be expected to provide clinical services consistent with her or his area of practice expertise and department needs. The Bay Area Experiential Director will report to the Vice Chair of Experiential Education and the Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy.

The successful candidate will be a PharmD from an accredited college/school of pharmacy and have completed at least a PGY1 pharmacy residency or have equivalent skills and experience. The candidate will either be licensed in California as a pharmacist, or be eligible for licensure within 6 months. High priority in selection will be given to candidates with: experience in a pharmacy practice setting (acute, ambulatory, or community), evidence of excellent communication, clinical, and teaching skills, outstanding organizational and administrative skills, and strong potential for academic advancement demonstrated by a record of innovation and creativity documented through research and publications.
