UCSF Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program
The Department of Community Health Systems is seeking to fill PMHNP clinical faculty positions at 40-100% effort. The selected candidates will be appointed at the level of Assistant or Associate in the Health Sciences Clinical series depending on qualifications and interests. These positions will include engaging in innovative clinical faculty practice arrangements with Bay Area agencies providing behavioral health services, clinical teaching in the UCSF PMHNP program, and other faculty responsibilities as described below.
Faculty responsibilities in the PMHNP educational program include:
Providing behavioral health services in School of Nursing faculty practice sites
Precepting PMHNP students in faculty practice sites
Facilitating PMHNP clinically-focused courses and seminars
Recruiting and retaining a talented and diverse student cohort
Advancing NP roles and patient care through scholarly activities
Participating in School of Nursing committees and in professional organizations
At minimum must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing
California RN, NP and furnishing licensure
U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency controlled substance registration
ANCC certification as a PMHNP
Two or more years of clinical experience as a PMHNP
Fluency in Spanish
Academic and clinical teaching experience with Nurse Practitioner students/residents
Quality Improvement experience
Doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD)
