The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time faculty position as a Surgical Pathologist/Cytopathologist. The academic appointment will be at the Full Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X Series. She/he is expected to participate in night and weekend surgical pathology call, departmental teaching activities for medical students, house-staff, and fellows, and interdepartmental conferences. Candidates with strong interpersonal skills are preferred.

Candidates must have an MD degree, a valid California medical license, fellowship or equivalent experience in Cytopathology, and be Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and Cytopathology. Applicants skilled in fine needle aspiration (FNA), particularly ultrasound-guided FNA are favored. Subspecialty expertise in Head and Neck pathology, and experience with quality assessment/quality improvement (QA/QI) issues is preferred. Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and training. This position is based in the Department of Pathology.
