Director of the Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease

The Gladstone Institutes is a renowned center of excellence focused on applying basic science to mechanistically understand the basis of human disease and reveal new therapeutic approaches. Gladstone is highly collaborative and closely affiliated with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and located in the rapidly expanding Mission Bay area. Our science contributes to the health and well-being of all people through research, education, and outreach in the areas of cardiovascular disease, neurological disease, and virology and immunology.

The Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease seeks to recruit a director with strong leadership capabilities and a robust basic research program. We invite applications from scientists with M.D., Ph.D., or M.D/Ph.D. degrees who are established leaders in cardiovascular biology or medicine.

The applicant should be a leader in the field of cardiovascular disease. Research interests in genomics, epigenetics, stem cell biology, cardiovascular disease genetics, metabolism, or developmental biology will provide synergistic opportunities with other faculty at Gladstone.

Candidates may be at the Associate or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will be appointed in an appropriate academic department at UCSF and may be affiliated with UCSF programs such as the Cardiovascular Research Institute (http://cvri.ucsf.edu) and the Institute for Human Genetics (http://humgen.medschool.ucsf.edu/).
