Position description

The Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery is now accepting applications for an Assistant or Associate Specialist. The lab aims to understand the critical immunological barrier that presently precludes the successful application of cell-based regenerative therapy and has made seminal contributions to the field, including the first description of the antigenicity of mitochondria in embryonic stem cells derived by somatic cell nucleus transfer (SCNT). Currently, the TSI group is interested in understanding the molecular, cellular, and epigenetic landscape changes after transplantation of stem cells and their derivatives and we are aiming to decrease the immunogenic potential of PSCs.

A specialist position is available for an ambitious coworker with strong interest in immunology and stem cell research. Ideal for candidates with experience in molecular biology or biochemistry, seeking to acquire or strengthen her/his expertise in integrative methodology and research topics. A master’s degree or at least 5 years of research experience is required. We study the immunobiology of pluripotent stem cells using gene therapy to investigate immune responses. The successful candidate must have a strong background in molecular genetic methods, imaging techniques and a solid publication record.

Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicants experience and training. Please apply online at https://aprecruit.ucsf.edu/apply/JPF01792.
