The UCSF Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine, within the Department of Medicine, is seeking applications for a full-time, board certified/eligible Pulmonologist with clinical and research experience in severe asthma who will be recruited at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine. The ideal candidate must have expertise caring for outpatients with severe asthma and in clinical trials/observational studies in severe asthma. He/she must have experience with research in severe asthma with experience in methods of recruitment of asthma patients for research studies, advanced training in methods of clinical research, ability to manipulate the large datasets typical of multicenter cohorts, familiarity with molecular mechanisms of asthma and molecular methods of biospecimen analysis, and a track record of research funding.

The UCSF/Moffitt Severe Asthma Clinic offers outpatient consultative services for the management of severe asthma. The UCSF Airway Clinical Research Center participates in clinical trials and observational studies of asthma in single and multi-center grants. Strong clinical demand and an expanding team-science research program offer the new faculty member an exciting array of opportunities to participate in the growth and development of these leading-edge programs.
