Pediatric Echocardiographer/ Inpatient Cardiologist, HS Clinical Faculty Series

The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital are recruiting a new faculty member to provide pediatric cardiology echocardiography imaging support at Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco, including transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal, and remote echocardiography reading/consultation. The faculty member will attend on the Cardiology Ward service nine weeks per year and will have primary responsibility of CTCU (cardiology step down unit) patients and hospital wide cardiology consultation. Appointment will be made at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor ranks of the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical faculty series.

Required qualifications include a medical degree and license; Board Certification in Pediatrics and subspecialty certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology; formal clinical training in transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal, and 3-D echocardiography including a fourth year senior Pediatric Cardiology Imaging fellowship or three years’ practice experience in Pediatric Cardiac Imaging.

Distribution of clinical duties is expected as follows:

• Transthoracic echocardiography: Two days per week
• Transesophageal echocardiography: One day per week
• Fetal echocardiography: One day per week
• Remote echocardiography reading: One-half day per week
