The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking an outstanding candidate for a full-time faculty position as a Surgical Pathologist/Cytopathologist. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated and participated in clinical and/or translational research. She/he is expected to participate in night and weekend surgical pathology call, departmental teaching activities for medical students, house-staff, and fellows, and interdepartmental conferences. Candidates with strong interpersonal skills are preferred.

Candidates must have an MD degree (or MD equivalent), a valid California medical license (or qualifications to obtain one at the time of appointment), be Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology and have completed a Cytopathology Fellowship with eligibility or certification in Cytopathology. Applicants skilled in fine needle aspiration (FNA) are preferred. Candidates with subspecialty expertise in Head and Neck pathology, either formal fellowship training or comparable experience and publications, will be favored. Salary and appointment rank (Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Clinical X Series) will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and training. This position is based in the Department of Pathology.
